Pininfarina 124 Spider for sale

The 1984 Pininfarina 124 Spider is one of Tom Tjaarda’s masterpiece designs. While I was out driving with this car taking these pictures, I had three people asking me what kind of car it was. One reason for that could be that there were never any Pininfarina 124 Spiders sold here in Sweden. However, I have certainly done my best to make up for it by importing close to 100 Fiat and Pininfarina 124 Spiders to Sweden. Most of these cars I found were in Germany, Holland and sometimes Italy or USA. This was in the late 90’s. Some of these cars come back to me every now and then, and this car I have owned more than once before.

Exterior: This was always a very nice car imported from California, which is easy to see on the body today. It is a super solid car both on top and underneath. When I brought this car to Sweden in 2006, the first owner wanted to have it slightly modified. So, the original bumpers were removed, and the earlier chrome bumpers were fitted. We bought a set of replica Volumex wheels 15” and removed the original mirrors fitted through the glass on the doors. Stainless steel wipers and some other smaller details installed.

Interior: On the inside of the Pininfarina 124 Spider, it was time for new leather in beige. The soft top on the Spider is starting to show some age today, but it is still keeping the water out. There is also a convertible cover when the top is down in beige leather. All wood panels and instruments are still looking very nice. Carpets were replaced in 2006, and they still look great. The cover carpets are specially made with Pininfarina logo. There is a time period correct radio with cassette player. It also has auto reverse, if some of you remember.         

Engine and mechanics: The 2l twin cam engine runs perfectly and has recently been fitted with a new timing belt and a new head gasket. The five-speed gearbox works just fine. This car has been serviced regularly over the years. A set of original wheels are available, if that is preferred. 

History: Imported from California to Sweden in 2006 and had 3 users here. The Pininfarina 124 Spider comes with the original handbook and a binder with collected receipts for parts and work done over the years.
