Vehicle Overview

Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV for sale

The Alfa Romeo Giulia GT series, affectionately known as the Bertone coupe, is widely celebrated as one of the most beautiful and balanced sports cars of the 1960s and '70s, thanks to Giorgetto Giugiaro’s masterful design for the Bertone styling house. While early versions featured the famous "step-nose" front end, the lineup truly came of age with the introduction of the 1750 GTV Series 1. This specific iteration is highly coveted by collectors today because it perfectly bridged the gap between classic and modern Alfa design: it introduced the smooth, seamless front nose with quad headlights and a punchier, highly praised 1,779cc engine, all while retaining the charm of the early Series 1 elements like the small rear taillights, elegant rounded stainless steel bumpers, and a beautifully sculpted, driver-focused interior.

Exterior: The exterior of this 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV is a peak Bertone coupe. As a Series 1 car, it features the dual front headlights, small rear taillights, and early rounded stainless steel bumpers. The car is finished in the very cool and highly desirable Giallo Ocra – a perfect shade of early '70s yellow. Perhaps it's not the color you would want on your Rolls-Royce, but it is exactly what you want on a Bertone coupe.

The exterior look of this Series 1 1750 is finished off with a perfect stance, thanks to a slightly lower Koni suspension and brand-new, 15-inch GTA-style alloys wrapped in fresh Pirelli Cinturato tires. The overall condition of the exterior is excellent, boasting a great paint finish, excellent panel gaps, nice sharp body lines, and absolutely no corrosion.

Interior: Being a Series 1 1750 GTV, this car features a lovely interior. It is true Alfa Romeo: a few simple, small details, with everything designed with intent. You are treated to gorgeous classic Jaeger instruments, beautiful wood trim, and highly sought-after Zagato bucket seats.

The interior of this car is in wonderful condition. The floor mats, headliner, and door cards are all new. The only part that hasn't been recently redone is the seat upholstery, which was refreshed sometime in the 1990s with vinyl on the bolsters and corduroy (Manchester cloth) in the middle. Personally, I like it; it gives the car a cozy, period-correct feeling. However, if it is not your style, a reupholstery kit costs around €900, allowing you to return it exactly to how it left the factory. For a modern touch, the car features a retro-style stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, but other than that, there aren't too many modern comfort features to distract you from the drive.

Engine and Mechanics: This Series 105 Bertone coupe retains its original 1750 engine, which was the top-of-the-line model at the time. Restored to its original specification, the car is a joy to drive. It features its original dual Weber 40 carburetors and produces 118 hp at 5,500 rpm, with power sent through a 5-speed manual transmission.

Mechanically, this car has been thoroughly restored, featuring a new brake system, a refreshed transmission, a rebuilt engine, a new exhaust, and more. All of this work is thoroughly documented. On the road, the car is brilliant – offering a great exhaust note, lovely handling, a smooth transmission, and a fantastic seating position.

History and Documentation: This Alfa Romeo was sold new in Eksjö, Sweden, in 1969. Around 2004, a restoration began but was put on hold until the next owner acquired the car in 2017 and completed the full build.

The car comes with excellent Swedish documentation, including old MOT (inspection) papers, driver's logs, and even its original registration document. The restoration itself is equally well-documented, including receipts for all purchased parts, invoices for the engine and gearbox work, assembly receipts, and invoices from the body shop.
