Jaguar E-type FHC Series 1 for sale
There were a total of 5,830 Jaguar E-type Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe 4.2 models produced. Personally, I think this is the best-looking Jaguar E-type ever built. If I were going to take my wife “Grand Touring” through Europe, the XKE Coupe would be at the top of my list of cars to drive.
Exterior: This Jaguar E-Type FHC is truly a wolf in sheep's clothing. On the outside, it looks like a very original car in the original color "cream," and the paintwork is very close to perfect. The rubber around the glass and doors is fresh, keeping most of the wind noise out even at higher speeds. The E-type has a perfect ride height, and if you need to pack heavily, the rear suspension is adjustable both in ride height and absorption. It features beautiful chrome spoke wheels fitted with period-correct Dunlop tyres. The knock-off spinners have red Jaguar engraving matching the red interior. If you are from Germany, we will swap these for a set without wings so that the TÜV will be happy. This car also has original tinted Sundym glass.
Interior: However, it's when you look through that clear glass that this car truly pops. The bright red interior makess the best contrast to the exterior. The leather seats are at the peak of patina heaven. Somebody has truly cared for this leather over the years, and it is in a wonderful condition today. It's likely that the original Dunlop foam is still underneath. I am well aware that they can be redone nowadays, but I feel that with modern foam, they will never be quite like the original ones. For your safety, there is a set of grey three point seatbelts with chrome airplane-style buckles. You have a nice row of flip switches to play with. All gauges are clear, beautiful, and fully functional. And take a look at that super cool, time-period correct Motorola radio!
This series of the Jaguar E-type probably had the best seats. They are comfortable to sit in and they look awesome. Even fairly tall drivers can fit in the driver's seat, and the steering wheel is adjustable.
Engine: However, what truly makes this car so special lies under the hood. On the outside, only the exhaust headers will give it away and perhaps the box for mapping of the ignition. Additionally, this car has an SNG Barratt throttle cable system for the accelerator, providing a much better and quicker response.
- The engine underwent a complete rebuild at Paul Roach LTD in the U.K. in 2012 and has covered 6000km since.
- High-performance camshafts are used.
- Bigger valves
- Brakes have an uprated vent kit.
- 5 speed gearbox
- Spin-off oil filter conversion
- Koni classic adjustable suspension set for fast road use
- Uprated wiper motor
- Every bushing, gasket or seal on this car was replaced during the period of 2016.
History: This Jaguar E-type Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe was manufactured on the 18th of May in 1967. It was sold new in the U.K and later made its way to Denmark. There, the body had a complete restoration in the late eighties. The present owner has had the car since 2010 and has put in a lot of effort to make this one of the greatest driving Jaguar E-types out there. All the work has been carried out by professional workshops specializing in these cars, and full documentation of this work comes with the car. It is the perfect car for somebody looking for a super solid car with strong mechanics. Someone who also enjoys longer drives in their classic car.
