Exterior: Opel Kapitän Cabriolet was made in between 1938-1940 and this car is a 1939 model. The Kapitän was available in this beige colour or red, blue and green. Repainted 5 years ago and now fitted with new chrome. Wheels have been refurbished, fitted with NOS hubcaps and new white wall tyres. Also, the spare wheel is new. A very elegant German car for sunny days. The car was cleaned and painted also in the wheel arches. Underneath is black stone chip protection. The convertible top is in good condition and is easy to fold up and down. A convertible cover is also along with the car.
Interior: As you can see in the pictures, this Opel Kapitän Cabriolet still has the original leather seats from 1939. It has been left to the buyer to decide if it should be replaced or repaired. The maroon interior makes a wonderful contrast to the outside colour. Opel Kapitän has some nice aluminium trim along the dashboard and a otherwise very easy layout. The switch for side signals that pop out is on top of the dashboard.
Engine: The straight six engine in Opel Kapitän Convertible is easy to start up and with 3 gears the car is easy to operate.
History: This Opel Kapitän Cabriolet was sold new here in Sweden back in 1939. There was more than 25,000 Opel Kapitäns built, but only 248 in Cabriolet. These cars were built by coachbuilder Gläser or Hebmuller and this car is a Opel Kapitän Cabriolet built by Opel. It has been in some Swedish movies and magazine covers. It shows three owners in Sweden and the car was standing still for a very long time.
