Jaguar C-type Proteus replica for sale
The Jaguar C-Type was a car that Jaguar built to compete on the race track against cars like the Shelby Cobra, Ferrari, Maserati and more. The C stands for competition and there were 53 original cars built in 1951-1953. There have been many replica and recreation cars built over the years and this is one of them.
Exterior: This Jaguar C-type recreation is in the correct British racing green as the factory C-types. It looks darker since the pictures were taken in the early morning. The paintwork is very close to perfection. And the red wheels give a great contrast to the car. The condition is almost too nice for a race car from the 50’s. However, a few track days should cure that.
Interior: The Jaguar C-type does not have so much interior, and it would be a shame to cover up those beautiful aluminium panels. There are two very nice bucket seats covered in black leather. The instrumentation looks very race and time period correct. Battery fitted in the right-hand door jam and the exhaust on the left. Some extra plugs give a more authentic look. When you park your car outside, there is a tonau cover to keep it dry inside.
Engine: The 3.4l fitted in this Jaguar C-type looks and sounds amazing. It provides more than enough power for this car. And with the five-speed gearbox, it can go faster than most people would dare. At normal highway speed, you are just cruising along at a very low rpm. The suspension front and rear are from a Jaguar MK2 and there are disc brakes front and rear. The steering is Volvo.
History: The Jaguar C-type offered for sale here was completed and registered in 2007 by a local engineer. He did a fantastic job with this car and it does not need anything today. It comes with a very vast documentation on the entire project including many drawings, receipts, manuals and references. The registration is what we refer to in Sweden as an “amateur built vehicle”.
