Alfa Romeo Montreal 1971 for sale

The Alfa Romeo Montreal for sale is a unique sports car produced by the Italian automaker Alfa Romeo from 1970 to 1977. Around 3,900 cars were produced and most of them are from 1972. However, with a price higher than both Porsche 911 and Jaguar E-type, the Montreal was simply not selling when the oil crisis hit in 1973. The car was designed by Marcello Gandini, who also designed the Lamborghini Miura and the Lancia Stratos. It was named after the Canadian city of Montreal, which hosted the Expo 67 World's Fair where Alfa Romeo had presented a concept car with a similar design.

The Alfa Romeo Montreal received mixed reviews when it was first released. While the car's performance and design were generally well-regarded, some critics found the car's handling to be less than ideal, with a tendency towards understeer. Nevertheless, the Montreal has since become a cult classic, appreciated for its unique design and sound, and has a dedicated following among Alfa Romeo enthusiasts.

Today, the Alfa Romeo Montreal remains a rare and collectible sports car that is prized for its design, performance, and history.

Exterior: The Alfa Romeo Montreal for sale here was repainted in 2017 in the original colour, AR 602 orange metallic. All of the stainless steel trim is in excellent condition and the Alfa has just been fitted with a new grill, new mirrors and some of the emblems are also new. The original wheels have been refurbished and the rubber is fresh. Personally, I think the Alfa Romeo Montreal is right up there with some of the most beautiful exotic sports cars from this era. In some of the pictures you see a set of more modern wheels. These are just for fun, and the car will be sold with the original Chromodora aluminium wheels.

Interior: On the inside, the Alfa Romeo Montreal for sale is with black cloth and a grey carpet. All instruments and switches are working. Also heating and fan work as they should. The trunk area has just received a new carpet. Original spare wheel is in its place with the tools. No corrosion to be seen inside or outside.

Engine: Alfa Romeo used a 2,6l V8 producing 200hp.  The total travel of this Alfa Romeo Montreal 1972 is 119,000km and the engine was rebuilt at 115,000km.

History: This Alfa Romeo Montreal was imported from Italy to Sweden 1988-06-29. During its years in Sweden, it has been owned by 3 private people and two companies including us. The Alfa Romeo comes with the original handbook and documentation. The last Technical Inspection (TUF) in Sweden was 2019-04-29 and it is not required to go any more.
